Echo Creek Adventure & Cultural Camp
Nature Walks
Spirit of the Rainforest Tour
This is normally provided as an indigenous experience for our tourist when wanting to learn about indigenous culture, however we have a shorter version of the walk to the healing pond. The healing pond contains a wonderful dreamtime story and the children are given an interpretive talk about the flora and fauna. The healing pond is also a great place for the children to cool off for those summer days. We could provide a billy tea and damper experience also for the children they may wish to make the damper themselves.
Mahogany Glider Night Tour
At present we are busily preparing a new tour to demonstrate to the general public an awareness about the endangered species The Mahogany Glider. Students/children will be taken out by coach to privately owned property to spot the gliders in their natural environment. Children must be very quiet as the Mahogany Glider is very cautious around intruders. We will also incorporate a sit by the campfire at night and tell of the wonderful dreamtime story that exists on this property - The Dingo Story.
Spotlight Tour
Just on dusk you can take a guided tour of the nearby rainforest to see the local nocturnal inhabitants. Most of our animals come out and play during the early evening and early morning so here you may see the resident possum.
Local Farm Tour
Guests will be taken on a tour around the immediate local farms which will include: Banana’s, Sugar Cane, Cattle, Tree Plantations and Season Fruits and vegetables. During your visit through the Banana Farms you will be taken to the packing sheds to see how the banana is packaged and transported out. This activity is available all year round however depending on time of year not all activities will be experienced.
